Google Gears 1.0 is a very practical Google tool that lets you save web application configurations in your PC without needing to be connected to the web. The method it uses is simple: synchronize your Google Reader before leaving home and shutdown the PC. When you return home and start it up again you can read the last 2000 feeds downloaded without connection in off-line mode, letting you do this not only with Google Reader, but also with Gmail, Google Docs or Google Calender.
