PHLUMX is a free video editing software for VJs (like DJs but with images) that can do live visual compositions. Through PHLUMX the user can mix any type of multimedia video and clip (including Quicktime, AVI and Flash formats) that support DJs at work, groups performing or exhibitions. PHLUMX has support for FreeFrame effects, MIDI controls and music clips.The possibilities with PHLUMX are enormous. You can load two very long temporal lines (two long videos at the same time) and have total control of the position of each one, being free to mix them. The mixing controls are practically the same as you`d find on a DJ mixing desk, but applied to videos. The effects and filters are also similar. You can apply almost any effect you can think of.You can put markers at concrete points in a video to be able to access them instantly at any moment, independently control the volume of each track, define macros and shortcut keys, control two virtual monitors at the same time etc. In summary, PHLUMX is a complete editing, mixing and creating tool for visual compositions from videos.
