Z-DATdump is a free and reliable tape backup software that can copy complete folders to any tape drives, optionally with a schedule, for transport, archiving or backup. That means fast and automatic tape backup to: TRAVAN, SLR, MLR, QIC, LTO, AIT, DLT, DAT or DDS tape drives with SCSI, IDE or USB port. The program features an easy-to-use interface and can also be controlled via command-line parameters. This allows for integration of Z-DATdump into other applications or batch scripts, and enables scheduled backups using the windows built-in task scheduler or Z-Cron, with which you can also control all other tasks on a computer. The complexity of Z-DATdump was deliberately kept to a minimum, which makes it easy to use for a home user, an employee as well as an administrator. Z-DATdump is a low-cost alternative for reliable tape backups. The tape dump software is easily installed and configurable. Up to five dump lists can be defined, and it also allows for quickly copying manually selected data to tape. With the integrated 1-click dump function, you can create desktop shortcuts for dump jobs, so you can quickly and comfortably start a tape dump without even starting the software. Z-DATdump lets you select your data for a 1:1, incremental or differential copy to tape. A Fast CRC check can optionally be enabled if the copied data should be verified for integrity and completeness after the tape dump.
