Step 1:
Both devices have to be connected into the same Wi-Fi connection.

In Xender tap "X" and click "Send" on one device, then navigate to new page to search for nearby iOS devices.

On another device click "Receive", then go to new page to search for nearby iOS device.

Locate your friend's device, click on its icon, and your devices should automatically connect. (Note that only one person needs to click the icon.)
